Creative trauma-informed training for professionals working with children, young people and adults across education, health and social care settings

Experiential training

Training sessions are designed for professionals working in education, health and social care settings who are interested in exploring creative approaches to trauma-informed practice.

Courses and workshops combine theoretical frameworks, creative activities and reflective practice, encouraging participants to explore new perspectives and apply learning within their professional roles.

I design and deliver training online and in person. Over the years, I have worked with professionals and teams across children’s hospices, schools, bereavement charities, mental health services, and universities.

Past training topics have included:

• Arts therapies in paediatric palliative care

• Creative approaches to supporting bereaved children and young people

• Narrative, imagery-based and embodied strategies for trauma-informed practice

• Arts-based mindfulness to promote well-being in the helping professions

• Understanding and preventing vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and burnout.

My way of working is grounded in collaborative, inclusive and anti-oppressive practice, with attention to how intersecting identities and wider social contexts shape people’s lives and experiences.

Drawing on many years of experience in the UK across education, mental health and paediatric palliative care, I collaborate with international organisations to promote the use of creative approaches in psychological support, organisational coaching and professional supervision.
